Guessmate Privacy Policy

1. Who processes your data
The Guessmate app and the guessmate.me website are run by Sergey Golubnik, an individual based in Russia ("we").

2. What data we process and why

We do not sell data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
3. Legal bases
We process data to perform our agreement with you (account, profile, game, chat, notifications), based on your consent (approximate location, notifications, gender and preferences you choose to provide), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe (reports, blocks, checking profile content, fraud prevention). You can withdraw consent by editing your profile, turning off location or notifications, or deleting your account.
4. Who we share data with
- Other users see your profile and whatever you unlock for them in the game and chat.
- Supabase (cloud database, sign-in and functions; servers in the EU, Frankfurt) — storing account and service data.
- Cloudflare (R2 storage) — photo and voice files; email routing for support mail.
- OpenAI (Moderation API) — profile texts and photos for automated checks for prohibited content. Chat messages are not sent to OpenAI.
- Google (Gemini API) — your bio and interests when you ask to generate questions.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service — device token and a short notification without message content.
- Google, Apple, Yandex — if you sign in with their account.
- Resend — your email address and the sign-in code email.
These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes. Some of them are located outside your country (EU, USA); the transfer is necessary to run the service.
5. How long we keep data
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can request deletion in the app (Profile → Account & support → Delete account) or at https://guessmate.me/delete-account/. Your profile is hidden immediately; you can cancel deletion within 30 days. After that, your profile, games, messages, files and sign-in account are deleted.
Disappearing messages are deleted after the period chosen in the chat, view-once photos after they are viewed. Messages in closed support requests and the moderation decision log are kept for 30 days.
6. Your rights
You can find out what data we hold about you, correct it, restrict or object to its processing, get a copy, or delete it. Most of this is available in the app (edit or pause your profile, notification settings, blocks, account deletion); anything else — on request to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. You may also contact the data protection authority in your country.
7. Age
Guessmate is only for people 18 and older. We do not accept dates of birth under 18. If you believe an account belongs to a minor, report it in the app or email support — we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over secure connections (HTTPS), and server access is restricted per record. Support staff only see the data needed to handle a request. Chats are not end-to-end encrypted.
9. Changes
We announce changes in the app or on this page. The current version is always available at https://guessmate.me/privacy/.
